Gerdau AmeriSteel Recycling-Cornwall Division is a small yard located in South Eastern Ontario in close proximity to the border of the province of Quebec. Cornwall Division buys and sells approximately 30000net tons of scrap metals in a given year. The yard employs 6 people on a full-time basis and adds on a couple of students during the busy months to help out. Through hard work and innovation Cornwall Division has become a front runner in productivity and efficiency. With the yards proximity to the Quebec market and their fully bilingual manager and supervisor Cornwall Division is able to tap into the Quebec market and create relationships that will last for years to come.
Cornwall Division sells over 95% of their ferrous scrap to either the Whitby Steel Mill or the shredder at Whitby Division. The majority of the non-ferrous shipped out of Cornwall Division goes to outside suppliers, usually around the Montreal area. All of the irony aluminum purchased in Cornwall is sent to the Whitby shredder for processing.
Cornwall Division is equipped with 2 cranes, a loader and a portable logger/baler which enable them to handle all of the material that comes into the yard effectively and efficiently. With their expert knowledge and abilities of the personnel Cornwall Division is able to give their customers the fairest price for the material or even share advice on how to better prepare the material so that the customer can earn more money.
With their almost 100 roll-off containers and 2 roll-off trucks Cornwall Division is able to locate containers at your site for your scrap material. For large quantities Cornwall Division would be able to have a mobile crane go to your site to assist in the loading and cleaning up of your business or property. Cornwall Division is currently serving customers all over Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec and Northern New York State.
